Continued Efforts Towards Medical Assistance for Ukraine With Portable Power & Water A Hit at Disaster Conference
The portable solar-powered device known as Gen20 which is currently providing much needed energy and water in Ukraine earned recognition at the Natural Disaster Conference held recently on Miami Beach. In addition to helping in devastated areas of Ukraine, the Gen20 also offers relief for urban, rural, and remote areas around the globe that are served by disaster relief organizations.
The Gen20 was one of six finalists for “Cost Effective Mitigation Product of the Year” from over 300 products at the conference. A product of the PowerPanel line, Gen20 is paired with a UV sanitizing and filtered water system and has generated electricity along with hot-and-cold running water at Ukraine medical facilities. The product’s on-board electrical battery and thermal water storage tank allows for 24-7 availability.
Letter from US Senator Gary C. Peters, MI
Recently, US Senator Gary C. Peters, MI wrote to The Honorable Dr. Kimberly Spangler, Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) Director at the Department of Defense, in support of RG Resource Technologies, PowerPanel's parent company. The letter read,
Dear Director Spangler:
I am writing to express my support of RG Resource Technologies’ pre-proposal entitled Increasing Resiliency on DoD Installations by installing PVT (Photovoltaic + Solar Thermal) Cogeneration Micro-Utility Substations to the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DoD) Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP).
The traditional utility model of centralized production and distribution poses a severe risk to national security from a variety of threats including cyber-attacks, severe weather, and physical damage inflicted by bad actors both foreign and domestic. These threats reduce the overall resilience of the system. While onsite renewables have been utilized to try and add resilience to the system, the installation and storage cost coupled with the complexity of retrofitting integration with existing building mechanical and electrical infrastructure has limited its adoption and deployment.

Donation by Power Panel Brings Hope to Puerto Rico
DETROIT (PRWEB) February 24, 2018
Last year’s hurricane season was seemingly relentless, and on September 20, 2017, Puerto Rico received a devastating blow in the form of Hurricane Maria. A Category 4 hurricane, Maria had maximum sustained winds of 145-155 mph and brought catastrophic loss, fatalities, extreme structural damage and power outages across the island.
Fast forward nearly four months later, and there are still residents who are lacking hot water, warm showers and the power needed to pull their lives and communities back together. While relief efforts have been underway since Hurricane Maria struck, recovery has been a long process due to a variety of factors including lack of resources, underdeveloped roadways and weakened infrastructure.
